Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros just released their new album “Up From Below” and gave profits to the Gulu Widows Group of Uganda so that they could start a farm to sustain their community. After the first harvest the women performed one of the band’s songs “Home” just to say thank you.
Kind of a cool release model, and one that just confirms that benevolence is in fact good business.
