I spend a lot of my time at Bedrocket figuring out why certain videos go viral, and this is the best presentation on data design I’ve seen in months. Even if you’re looking for a better way to report your quarterly results to your colleagues, this is well worth reading. From my perspective, the YouTube analytics platform has a long way to go before it’s an effective vehicle for efficient data collection. As a result, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to rework and repackage the data to make it more useful. This presentation gets at the crux of that work.
